Meet The Artist

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Lynn Soloway is a former faculty member (1985-2019) in the Department of Art at Concordia University, Nebraska. She earned three degrees in painting and drawing: BFA, 1968, Kent State University, Kent Ohio; MA in drawing, 1970, The University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa; MFA in painting, 1971, The University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa. Before co-designing the graphic design program at Concordia, Prof. Soloway previously held teaching appointments at The University of Tennessee-Knoxville, The University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Nebraska Wesleyan University-Lincoln.

Ms. Soloway has exhibited her drawings and paintings in numerous juried and solo exhibitions throughout the USA. Her one-of-a-kind Oberon adornment designs are retailed in several art museum shops and art-to-wear boutiques, including The Hitchcock Shop at The Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha. In 2018, Ms. Soloway retired from academia, and currently maintains her drawing and jewelry studios in her home in rural Seward, Nebraska.
