Ecru lace and chrome,
Organdy slips and black lacquer boxes,
A midsummer night’s dream,
Gold scarab amulets, luna chrysalis, a chambered nautilus,
Orion’s belt, oriental patterns, crimson satin, glass hearts, grey silk,
Clove and vetiver, blood red tea roses.
Ethereal yet tangible—paradoxical images.
Time told in midnight blue rooms.
Time that fascinates through a misted lens.
A personal view that isolates.
Enigma.
Romance.
Silver slippers gliding across a moonlit marble floor.
Cole Porter, Billie Holliday, Fitzgerald, Marienbad or Marrakesh.
The Chrysler Building at dusk,
Paris in the rain, a foggy London dawn,
Vienna, La Belle Epoque—not today, but
Yesterday’s sentimental journey.
